Monday, 22. 05. 2023
12 – 1.30pm
Cultural Center Spittelberg im Amerlinghaus
Stiftgasse 8
1070 Vienna
In the framework of the ongoing project “My City Through Time”, part of the ERASMUS + program of the European Union, BLOCKFREI is organizing a presentation / workshop intended for youth workers (teachers, lecturers, art educators, etc.) on Monday, the 22nd of May, in the premises of the Cultural Center Spittelberg im Amerlinghaus, (Stiftgasse 8, 1070 Vienna), in a period from 12 to 1.30pm.
Through the project we will create knowledge, methods and recommendations with which we want to develop the awareness of residents, especially young people, and stimulate them to deal critically with the elements of public space in seven European cities: Zagreb, Berlin, Barcelona , Thessaloniki, Vienna, Gorizia and Maribor.
During this event we will present and discuss the thematic units that we have created as part of the project. We have mapped three themes that deal with overlooked histories of Vienna:
- Roma in Vienna
- the phenomenon of guest workers
- the critical role of performance art in the local historical context
After the presentation, the participants are invited to try out the presented city tours (City Rally) themselves by visiting selected places and considering their importance for young Viennese.
Let’s take this opportunity to exchange ideas with other experts from the field of youth work.
By Saturday, 20th of May, please apply under the link: https://forms.gle/ZtuJFqKcot6ym4686
If you have any questions, please contact our team at info@blockfrei.org.
The event will take place in German language.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
