studio das weisse haus and BLOCKFREI curators in residence 2020 cooperation
Studio das weisse haus in cooperation with BLOCKFREI has invite Malou Solfjeld (alumni curator of Curators’ Agenda program) from February 03 until April 21, 2020 as Curator in Residence.
The aim of the residency is to develop a group exhibition in das weisse haus from April 15 to June 06, 2020 with artists, who are currently / or have been included in the program of studio das weisse haus, based on the proposed concept. This first idea will be further developed and finalized during the residency.
During her two-month residency, Malou Solfjeld dives into the archive of studio das weisse haus to organize a group exhibition with current and former participants. Hereby, the focus of her curatorial project lies on temporary inhabitance, belonging and the concept of home. These aspects are based on her research interest in post-human intra-active as well as entangled becoming with companion species. The “housewarming” of the show entitled “New homes for horses, cats and canaries” will take place at das weisse haus on April 21, 2020.
Malou Solfjeld is an independent curator based in Copenhagen. Her research interests lie in the subjects of home, belonging and post-human intra-active, entangled becoming with companion species (inspired by thinkers such as Donna Haraway and Karen Barad). She holds an MA in Art History from Copenhagen University and has worked as a curator and residency facilitator at CCA Andratx, Mallorca since 2016. Recently she joined ART2030.org in their non-profit work on connecting artists with the UN Global Goals.
